3rd Molar Extraction Course

what to expect

This comprehensive, hands-on course is designed to enhance clinicians’ confidence and surgical proficiency in the extraction of impacted third molars. Participants will learn evidence-based techniques for flap design, bone removal, and tooth sectioning, while safely navigating anatomic challenges such as proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve and sinus. The course emphasizes preoperative assessment, case selection, and management of intraoperative and postoperative complications to ensure predictable outcomes. Step-by-step clinical demonstrations and live surgical instruction will allow attendees to refine their instrumentation control and improve efficiency. In addition, the integration of Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) will be discussed and demonstrated as a biologic adjunct to accelerate soft- and hard-tissue healing, minimize postoperative discomfort, and enhance patient recovery. By the end of the program, clinicians will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to perform complex third molar extractions safely and confidently in their own practices.

What support is available after I complete the course?

We offer ongoing mentorship and support to all alumni. Our experts are available to help with case planning, troubleshooting, and any other questions you may have.

What experience level do I need to take a course?

Our courses are designed for dentists at all skill levels—whether you're placing your first implant or looking to advance your technique. We start with foundational courses and offer advanced courses for experienced practitioners. During your training, our faculty provides personalized, hands-on instruction tailored to your current skill level, helping you build confidence at your own pace. If you're unsure which course is right for you, contact us and we'll help you choose the best fit based on your experience and goals.

Do I need to provide my own patients for the live surgery?

There’s no need to bring your own patients; we've got that covered for you. We provide patients specifically for the live surgeries to ensure you can focus entirely on mastering your skills in managing complications. Of course, if you prefer to work with your own patients, you’re welcome to bring them along.

What does "live patient surgery" mean, and how does it work?

Live patient surgery means you'll actually perform implant procedures on real patients during your course—not just observe or practice on models. Depending on the course, you can either bring your own patient or work with patients we provide for you. Our faculty guides you through each step of the procedure, offering personalized instruction and real-time feedback. This hands-on approach ensures you gain practical experience that translates directly to your practice. We also handle the temporary Ohio dental license for out-of-state participants, so you can focus on learning.
